### Responsibilities
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team with the United States Attorney's office for the Middle District of Alabama. Typical work assignments will include:
* Providing visitor information and serves as a receptionist for the district.
* Receiving telephone calls and visitors to the office.
* Controlling access to the office and insures that only visitors properly cleared are authorized entry.
* Responding to inquiries, providing general information regarding office programs.
* Producing a variety of written documents utilizing varied and advanced word processing software functions, working from handwritten draft, edited copy or electronic files.
* Receiving, reviewing, and distributing incoming mail.
* Ensuring mail received from other agencies is appropriately screened and distributed.

### Qualifications
**GS-4:** To be eligible at the GS-4 level, you must meet one full year of general experience **as defined below**.
**General Experience**: General experience is defined as experience performing the following types of duties: receiving telephone calls and visitors, producing a variety of documents using varied word processing software programs, (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power point); Ensuring documents are in proper format and that proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization have been verified.
**Education:** I have two years of education above the high school level.
**Combination of general experience and education:** Combination of general experience as described in A and education as described in B which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. Successfully completed post-high school education may be used to meet the total one year of general experience requirement equivalent to the GS-4 grade level.
To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)
***Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)-*** The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
